General Overview of Responsibilities
The Apprentice Carpenter assists Project Supervisors and Journeyman Carpenters with daily construction activities while learning the carpentry trade. Apprentices support framing, siding, exterior carpentry, and interior finish work while helping maintain safe and organized jobsites.
Experience & Qualifications
- At least one year of experience construction preferred
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and desire to develop skills in high-end rough and finish carpentry
- Comfortable working on active construction job sites and in varying weather conditions
- Arrives on time each day prepared to work, with required basic hand tools and appropriate work attire
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Core Responsibilities
- Assist Project Supervisors and Journeyman Carpenters with rough and finish carpentry tasks
- Assist with layout, measuring, cutting, and installation of building materials
- Support framing operations including walls, floors, ceilings, and roof systems
- Assist with exterior carpentry including siding, flashing, and weatherproofing preparation
- Assist with interior finish carpentry tasks such as trim, doors, and architectural details
- Carry, stage, and organize lumber, tools, and building materials
- Load and unload tools and materials at the beginning and end of each workday
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites
- Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and correctly and safely
- Follow directions from supervisors and experienced carpenters
Safety & Jobsite Standards
- Follow all company safety rules and OSHA safety requirements
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment including hard hats and work boots
- Report unsafe conditions to the Project Supervisor
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 80 pounds on a regular basis
- Work at heights using ladders and scaffolding
- Stand, bend, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in order to maintain awareness of jobsite hazards and follow safety procedures

Position Type: Hourly – $22—$30 per hour, depending on experience

Work Hours: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Overtime as needed)
